Stardock Support is looking to make improvements in many of our systems in the near future. We're updating the support page to make resolving issues faster and easier. It will make it easier for people having issues to find the right channel to get the solution to their problem. For as long as Stardock has been around we've been a part of the skinning community and we've relied on that partnership to ensure products improve and new users get help. The comm...
Greetings. I'm collecting data. If, when you try to change cursors using CursorFX, you find that it takes two clicks of the Apply button to make the change I need to know. What version of CursorFX are you using? Free or paid? Version #? What operating system are you using? 32- or 64-bit? Installed via Impulse or the Stardock store? Thnkas!

Another Desktopx 4 beta has been released. The standard and the professional version have both gotten the same updates This build focuses the feedback that has been recieved after the initial release last week. Post anything that looks odd. Make sure to give us system information like your OS (including 32 or 64 bit), and if it's hard to explain (or even if it isn't) a screenshot.
I was chatting with Niel and the question came up of what features/functions/etc were still missing from SKS6 that were there for SKS5. Why are the two version still needed to create a skin? So here is your chance to let him know what's missing. Are there times you have to go back or forth? What for? Are there times you have to go into the code because there's no UI for it in SKS6? Any thing else that might be keeping you from converting over? Let's try to keep...

A while back I suggested trying to start a series where the community could get an idea of what made the Masters amongst us tick; what inspires or motivates them; how do they do what they do. You, the community dove in and sent me piles of questions. I’ve culled through them, chunked them into an order that will allow us to start shallow and get deeper into them as technician, artists, and individuals. The response from the Masters was also excellent and increased the scope of this project d...

The Master skinners at Wincustomize are a special breed of people. They done the time here. They skin, they mentor, they skin some more. So I'm going to try to suck them dry of anything and everything they know. I want you, the community to send me your questions. I'll collect them, pick out a couple, and try to collect answers to post here. No question is too big or small; too general or specific. It can target one master (but I'll probably open it up too many if...
I missed this last week but it looks like MS has released the SDK for MS gadget developers. These gadgets will work on Live.com, the Vista sidebar and on the desktop. Compared to Konfabulator (Yahoo widgets) or DesktopX, the gadgets in the MS gallery have a long way to to go. Gallery: http://microsoftgadgets.com/Gallery/#Page1 But for anyone who wants to try out the new toy from the folks that brought us MS Bob and Active Desktop: http://microsoftgadgets.com/livesdk/index.htm

My third daught er is really enjoying Feeding Frenzy. I want to addit to the DesktopX desktop I made for her but none of the images I have laying around look as good as the icon for the game. But I want my DX object much bigger than the icon. And the icon looks doesn't resize well. So how do I get bigger better version of the thing. I tried doing a printscreen of the game and cut away the extra stuff . . .but I was hoping for a better way. Any help?

I picked up the Unorthodox Skin pack when it came out and use some of the skins now and again. Mostly for the Wow factor along with the tablet PC. Mike Bryant, Mark McQuillan, and Ian Black did an awesome job. But some of the skins suffered from the jaggies, especcially PocketPC. Could that be improved with elements of WB5? Is there any chance that they might be updated?

Adam Kinney writes " ...We do have articles in the works, though, and things are moving fast. This first one recounts the story of my first simple gadget and illustrates the basic components needed to build your own gadget.
