Are there any themes included that currently take advantage of the new additions?

Not that I am aware of.

However . . I know a few that are in the pipeline

1°) Cool to see that lots of things are done for XP ...

2°) not speaking about features but updating: if by any chance, WindowBlinds is running when you update, at he next boot there's systematicly an error message that "WindowBlinds is missing a core dll file WBLIND.DLL. Please reinstall WindowBlinds"

As Impulse is not proposing to download and archive the new version (like SDC did), the only way to do it, is to go back to re install previous version, then to don't get the same error message, unable WindowBlinds to start with Windows by activating "Windows Classic", then reboot, then update, then reboot again ... With the time needed by Impulse to load and verify everything's, the update has taken about ½ hour for me   . Should it be possible to fix that ? (it's not a trouble relative to the last version, it's something which came with Impulse ...)

3°) SDC gave the opportunity to "Prompt to select where Start Menu shortcuts are created" . It would be a minimum that impulse would do the same ... (not specific to WindowBlinds but to any of apps)

Cool to see that 24 h later (or not far), someone from Stardock had taken care of what i reported ... As always, we appreciate feedback.  The more, the better as it improves the software experience for all our users.

Having said that I would like to point out that 1) No response does not mean no action; 2) Finding an anomaly may be easy, fixing it might not be; 3) an anomaly on one user's system does not always mean it will happen on any other system.

You may trust that Stardock follows up on all reports so that issues are addressed.

Sure there's a lot of action ... Now this time for the WB 6.39b(.180 update i unactivate WB by switching to "Windows Classic" then reboot, then go for updating to WB 6.39b(.180 and after the reboot, i got this time the message:

"It appears that WbSrv.dll is missing from your Windowblinds installation. Please reinstall WindowBlinds" (though why as nothing from Wb is suposed to be launched on startup ?)

Still no way to reinstall, but another kind of message to let it do "with more ressource" ( ??? ) ... Ok, click on it and reboot ... Still the same message but this time it's aked to uninstall WB ( ???) ... OK i uninstall WB, reboot, then reinstall it, then reboot, OK WB seems to be iinstalled this time ... Yes, but not really, becauze verifying installation through Impulse tells that WindowBlinds is not correctly installed and needs to be re-installed ...

Euh, will this game keep on a long time ? it(s just about more than one hour i'm playing for now ...

And when things i mentionned in my initial post will be possible (because now, i've also my backup versions corrupted ...)

I have a problem with Windowblinds.

Everytime I install an update I loose the buttons to minimize, maximize and close.

I have to uninstall and reinstall to get them back.

I have Windows Vista Business 64 bit if that matters.

The only other difference I set up other than standard install is I have my skins in a different directory than the default install.

Speaking of that is there a way to change the path of where skins get installed while I am installing? I have to go to the registry each time and change the path variable and go and delete the directory where it is installing the skins.

Thanks
Dan

What version of Impulse do you have installed?

What version of Impulse do you have installed?

Latest (i think) 3.11.340 (images 3.10.175) build 955

... and problems are the same on 3 different PC's (1 is a laptop) running XP SP3 french ...

For now uninstall, reboot and then reinstall.

The issue with Impulse taking out files on an upgrade was supposed to be fixed, but it seems there may be something else that needs tweaking.

BTW switching to classic will not make a difference with this issue as WBsrv will always be in use on the PC.

H.S: Just a little note about Wincustomize Website access troubles ... I've spend about 10 mn before suceeding to arrive here ... and it's like this since more than one month ...

- Though, coming back to the WB 6.39b(.180 update installation trouble : it's effectivly resolved (for me) by uninstalling WB, reboot, clean the WindowBlinds program folder from anything apart sig6.bin, then install WB 6.39b(.180 through Impulse. Then WB is effectivly installed and a reboot is not required ( ??? ) for the program to work.

- For the second part and the fact that installation verification through Impulse  tells that WB is badly installed, it comes with the Dragon Wb folder. I explain myself: i get a personalised version of Dragon Wb (toolbar buttons + sounds on UIS2 buttons + using it without per pixel frames - to be able to get sounds working - ), though i delete the new one coming with the WB program update (it would be much better to get updated skins avaible apart WB installation ) and copy my Dragon version back ==> with the new Dragon Wb installed, verification through impulse tells WB is OK and with my Dragon Wb folder verification tells WindowBlinds is badly installed and that without doing anything on the program itself ... ( ????? )

Maybe something's linked to start panel animations ?? but BTW it should not append if skins were installed apart Wb itself update. (and there should not be a program error detected as it comes "only" from a trouble with a installed skin ...

This is now released? Maybe either rename this thread, or create a new one for the stable release.
