One more release until Mac OS X!!
Published on May 18, 2006 By ZubaZ In Multiplicity
1.05 release
------------
-Updates to clipboard handler to account for secondaries
potentially being off and causing lag while pasting.
-Updates to connection code to account for secondaries
potentially being off when reconnecting.
-Tested against Windows Vista pre-release 5381 (x86 and x64).
Should remain happy on the upcoming Beta 2 build.
-Updated activate.exe to allow translation (activate.lng) and
added up-front checking for potentially invalid serials or
other customer issues.

-With the release of this version, the next set of
updates should include a beta of OS X support for Intel and PPC.

Okay. Done the following :

- Uninstalled MP on Server 2003
- reboot
- Deleted still present service from the registry
- reboot
- installed MP 1.05 from the standaloe file
- reboot

When I try to switch to the server, cursor is lost. Changing the order and switching to a secondary notebook works.

If you install Stardock Central it will prompt you for updates.

This is a great way to get to this version. But, does that mean I have to install stardock central on any secondary machines just to put multiplicity on them as well?
Because I notice that Stardock Central installs but doesn't download an installation program.

Thanks

You should install SDC on both PCs. It helps keep them in sync with MP.

You have opened SDC and clicked on the ThinkDesk section?
What version of MP do you see?

I don't think you need to enter your serial but you can go to Tools | Register products . .
Click on the Thinkdesk section and then choose MP from teh drop-down. Enter your serial and see if that sets you up.

Well, it's almost 3 months after the post saying next version will have OSX support (no date given). Since there was no response to my last post, I can only assume that you don't really have one to give. I got a notice today telling me my subscription runs out in 28 days. I go and check, still no OSX support, no update, nothing. Frustrated, I go ahead and download, install, configure, and run Synergy. Lo and behold, it works. Wow, Windows, OSX, and Linux support. I'm typing this on a virtual PC instantiation of XP on a Powermac using a Windows XP machine for the keyboard and mouse. Obviously not using Multiplicity though. As of today, Stardock has 28 days to regain my business. Otherwise my subscription lapses and I'll look to other companies for my needs. Perhaps you just don't care, but I've lost all faith in you. I was in Best Buy the other day, saw Galactic Civilizations on the shelf. Picked it up, looked at the box, said Hey, this looks like a cool game, where have I heard that name before, it's familiar. Read the box. OH....Stardock....put box back on the shelf and move on.

From the MP history text: http://sdc2.stardock.com/public/mpp/beta/history.htm

1.05a beta
--------------
-Added grid UI configuration to the Interface section. So you could
stack your physical monitors in other than a line. We're not going to
be adding stubs for multiple monitors on the primary machine for that in
terms of treating it as a separate primary monitor on the grid, but your
mouse focus will still transition over properly to whatever would be above
or below the primary.
-Connection handling adjustments to prep for the OS X beta -Tweaked 64-bit build
-Updated activation helper text

Keep up the good work Stardock. I expect that MP will work flawlessly with OSX, Vista, and
whatever flavor of linux I through at it.

If Synergy works for you, you're good, right? MP as you bought it worked as advertised. Wait or don't, it's your dime.
